WHY? Why we should care about the ocean.

Why?

We are all AWARE that the worlds oceans are in dire straits and that we MUST change our habits... The oceans are drowning in plastic. But where to start?

Reef Divers care! We all love the beauty of the underwater world and we are a little spoilt with the stunning beaches and coral reefs in SA. We have all also walked on a quiet beach and seen the plastic and rubish lying at the high water mark...that hopeless feeling when you look along the beach and realise its just too much for one person to pick up, and that it will just be back the next day...

You CAN do something! Remember the plastic straws ? how in a short span they dissapeared? It took a small effort from a LOT of people but it made a change!

PADI is in the forefront ot this change with conservation programms funded by divers.

• lets you participate in underwater citizen science
• lobbies and advocates local governments
• supports in-country projects and campaigns
• helps with organising volunteers for conservation events
