Have you ever wondered what it's like to breathe underwater? If you want to find out but aren't quite ready to take the plunge into a certification course, Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) will expand your knowledge and can see if it is something that truly piques your interest.
We offer a version of this program, either in a pool or other body of water. You might try it close to home or even if you are on vacation in Mozambique. While not an actual scuba certification, during the Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) experience you'll learn how to use scuba equipment in shallow water and get a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world.
The fun part? It's all fun! Plus, you can get credit! If your Discover Scuba Diving program includes an actual scuba dive in open water, your experience may count toward the PADI Scuba Diver or the PADI Open Water Diver certification, putting you a step ahead of the game when you decide to pursue the alure that the underwater world has on everyone.
There is nothing like breathing underwater for the very first time. It may take a little getting used to but after a few minutes of awestruck wonder, most participants realize how easy scuba diving really is. The biggest challenge for us as your instructor is coaxing Discover Scuba Diving participants out of the water when the program is over.
You will learn the basics in regards of skills and gear you need to dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional. One thing you'll learn is that you really can breathe underwater.
You will also learn the following:
All the equipment you will need is included in a Discover Scuba Diving experience.
You'll use all the basic scuba gear including:
Just your willingness and undivided attention to ensure your safety, understanding of the gear, skills that we will be practicing and ultimate excitement and fun.
To take part in the Discover Scuba Diving program you must be at least 10 years old.
If you are 8 years old, you are still eligible for the PADI Seal Team Course or the PADI Bubblemaker Course.
Once you complete a Discover Scuba Diving program, you can sign up for the PADI Scuba Diver Course or the PADI Open Water Diver Course and enter the aquatic world filled with wonders that only few people will experience. With the PADI Open Water Diver certification you will be able to rent gear for future dive excursions and dive at any other diving operation around the world.
