Reef Divers Career Development Program

By completing this course you will cover a wide field of skills, both in diving and business management that will create many job opportunities for you and enhance your chances of getting work locally and abroad. The CDC program is designed to take both divers and non-divers alike toward to the highest level of diver training available, and will help you achieve your goal of becoming a successful and professional dive Educator and/or Dive Store Manager.
The CAREER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM will run over a period of 12 weeks, and is designed to take you from your current level of training up to a PADI Open Water Instructor or higher.

  • Monthly Planning and Scheduling of Course and Trips
  • Stock Control and Replacement Ordering
  • Cash Flow Control and Basic Book Keeping
  • Banking Procedures
  • Shop Design and Outlay
  • Computerised Dive Store Management Systems (EVE – Quickbooks)
EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE
  • Equipment Purpose
  • Learn the features and benefits of all equipment sold in your territory
  • Learn all aspects of dive computers, how computers work and the various models
  • Learn all about digital underwater camera’s and housings
  • How to assist a client with equipment selection and fitting 
  • Compatibility of equipment

EQUIPMENT SEVICE TECHNICIAN
In this section you will learn the theoretical and practical knowledge and gain hands on experience on: maintenance, repairing and trouble-shooting of diving equipment. Several maintenance workshops with different manufactures will be attended.
Once the above mentioned courses have successfully been completed you will receive practical experience by servicing equipment under direct supervision.

  • Dealing with existing clients
  • Gaining trust and confidence from new clients
  • Attend and conduct staff meetings
  • Problem solving, e.g. Staff/clients
  • Liase relations students and instructors
